Jeffrey Frieden

Jeff serves as the CEO and Co-Founder of F&F Capital Group (“F&F"). Prior to F&F, Jeff was the Executive Chairman of Auction.com and Ten-X, two of the country’s largest online real estate marketplaces, which he co-founded in 2007 with long-time friend and business partner Rob Friedman. Under Jeff’s leadership, the company brings quality real estate assets to the market, makes prospective buyers aware of the properties through world-class marketing, and uses state-of-the-art technology to conduct transactions in a transparent online marketplace. In his role, Jeff has been responsible for translating the conceptualized business vision of both companies into a successful reality.

With his strong entrepreneurial spirit and a remarkable talent for driving sales and marketing, Jeff has steered Ten-X and Auction.com to positions of dominance in online commercial and residential real estate, respectively. Over $50 billion in real estate has been sold on the Ten-X.com & Auction.com platforms to date.

Rob Friedman

Robert Friedman is the President and Co-Founder of F&F Capital Group (“F&F"), and a member of its Executive Committee. Rob has a long history of innovative entrepreneurship, best known as the co-founder of Auction.com, one of the nation’s largest real estate auction firms.

Mr. Friedman began investing in commercial properties 38 years ago. Along with his long-time partner, Jeffrey Frieden, he has participated in thousands of real estate transactions, grossing billions in sales since 1990.

Mr. Friedman’s pioneering leadership has not been limited to real estate. He was among the first to recognize the potential of the internet, intuitively securing numerous highly desirable domains a full five years before the Internet boom, including Football.com, Basketball.com, Trivia.com and Chocolate.com.

Mr. Friedman is directly involved in all aspects of F&F’s business ventures, utilizing his vast investment experience and gift of entrepreneurial creativity to generate new opportunities.

Outside of his business ventures, Mr. Friedman is also deeply involved in various charitable organizations, including Boy Scouts of America and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County, where he has served as a board member for over 30 years. Mr. Friedman's current charitable undertaking is a state-of-the-art school for girls located on over 100 acres in Matagalpa, Nicaragua.

Born and raised in Anaheim and currently residing in Newport Beach, Mr. Friedman is a proud native of California.

Richard J. Johnson

Richard J. Johnson joined F&F Capital Group in 2019 as the chief financial officer and chief operating officer. In this capacity, Richard reports directly to F&F's principals and founders, Jeffrey Frieden and Robert Friedman.

As CFO, Richard oversees the accounting team, manages internal audit and tax functions and directs all deal intake and analysis. As COO, Richard directs F&F's internal procedures, providing our employees and executives with the guidance needed to maintain peak efficiency and productivity.

Richard has over 30 years of experience leading finance teams in mid to large scale companies engaged in complex business operations. Prior to joining F&F, Richard served as CFO, COO and EVP of Impac Commercial Holdings, Inc. and Impac Mortgage Holdings, Inc. ("IMPAC"). At IMPAC, Richard successfully launched two separate IPOs for commercial mortgage REITs, successfully raised over $1.2 billion in equity in association with capital raises, and oversaw the sale and securitization of over $30 billion in residential mortgage loans.

Richard graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and earned a master’s degree in business administration for the University of Southern California. Richard obtained his Certified Public Accountant license in 1986 and is a licensed mortgage loan originator in numerous states.

Kai Macdonald

Kai MacDonald serves as General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer to F&F Capital Group, LLC, and is a member of the company’s Executive Committee.

Kai oversees all legal and compliance related matters and provides ongoing support to the company’s numerous domestic and overseas business interests. As General Counsel, Kai brings a wealth of legal experience across numerous practice areas, including real estate, business law, corporate governance, taxation and transactional law, reporting directly to the company’s founders and principals, Jeffrey Frieden and Robert Friedman. In his role as both a legal and business advisor, Kai’s focus is devoted to developing legal solutions that support the company’s growth and ambitious business objectives.

A native of California, Kai earned his bachelor’s degree, from the University of California, Santa Barbara and his Juris Doctor degree and master's in tax law from the University of San Diego School of Law.

DON KENNEDY

With over 25 years of Real Estate experience centering on both acquisition and disposition Don brings a unique perspective to our goals at F&F Capital Group. As Vice President of acquisitions, he utilizes every possible avenue to uncover valuable Commercial Real Estate for our growing portfolio.

Don’s ability to be resourceful and professional lends itself well to forming relationships that are genuine. This skill set is extremely valuable to us and has been proven to be very effective as well. Finding valuable real estate that meets our acquisition guidelines is something he has done for the Principals of F&F Capital Group for decades. With over $2.4 Billion dollars in CRE Holdings Don has been an integral part of our Leadership team.

BARRY DAVIS

Barry Davis joined F&F Capital Group in 2021 as Executive Vice President and head of real estate reporting directly to the principals and founders, Jeff Frieden and Robert Friedman.

Barry oversees the acquisition process including interacting with financial institutions, sellers, brokers, and special servicers. Barry directs the daily activities working within the entire F&F Capital team to pursue acquisitions of commercial real estate, distressed first mortgages and mezzanine debt, using a variety of capital sources including cash, assumption of existing debt and new acquisition financing.

Barry has over 30 years of experience having been involved in aspects of commercial real estate from capital raising, origination, acquisition and due diligence to defaulted loan resolution where he spent the majority of his career. Barry served in positions with Banc One, ORIX Capital Markets, C3 Capital/Greystone as well as private equity businesses. Throughout his career he has overseen over $60 billion in defaulted loan resolutions and REO sales. Prior to joining F&F Capital Group Barry served as President and Chief Operating officer of C3 Asset Management and Greystone Servicing.

Barry graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance.

SAM EPSTEIN

Sam Epstein joined F&F Capital Group in 2019 as Partner and Head of Technology Investments.

Sam oversees all elements of our Technology investing activities from sourcing, due diligence, underwriting, operational processes, partnerships and portfolio management.

Sam has over 15 years of experience as an entrepreneur, operator and investor. Prior to joining F&F, Sam worked in the CEO's Office at ICONIQ Capital, a leading investment firm with over $80B in assets under management and a global family office platform serving many of the leading entrepreneurs and executives in the Technology industry.

Sam also has an extensive and successful track record as a leader and operator in the Technology industry, including prior roles at Google and OneFineStay.

Sam graduated from Vanderbilt University with a bachelor's degree in International Relations. He also earned a master’s degree in business administration from Stanford's Graduate School of Business.
